Aromatherapy and Aromatic Massage
Clinical Aromatherapy is the use of natural essential oils which work with the body's own systems to create physical and emotional well being. It can be used to:
- Treat hormonal imbalances including PMT or menopausal symptoms
- Treat skin conditions such as acne, eczema or psoriasis
- Alleviate the symptoms of depression
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Promote better sleep and treat insomnia
- Assist in the treatment of long terms conditions such as chronic fatigue
- Boost the immune system
As well as working on many physical conditions, essential oils are also a very powerful and effective way of promoting emotional well being as they work directly on the limbic system and so can have an immediate effect on our moods and emotional states. The science of psychoneuroimmunology has grown out of our increasing awareness that our moods can significantly affect our physical health. Even in Biblical times there was a recognition that our emotional state could effect our health and the rate of recovery from illness..

Aromatherapy treatments involve a detailed consultation which examines all aspects of a client's health and lifestyle. Following this, custom essential oil blends are prescribed and treatments will often but not always, involve massage. Other forms of treatments might include blends for inhalation or custom bath oils or creams. Aromatherapy is NOT a replacement for conventional medicine but it is an effective and natural complement to it.
